Other Applications
For specialists in paints, thin film applications and 3D bioprinting, we offer cellulose hydrogel (a stable suspension of cellulose microfibers in water) as a sustainable and multifunctional ingredient.
Paint
For specialists in paints, we offer cellulose hydrogel (a stable suspension of cellulose microfibers in water) as a sustainable and multifunctional ingredient with the following benefits:
Simplify your formulations by replacing thickeners, emulsifiers, binders, and stabilizers
Improve scratch resistance of the resulting coating
Transparent or translucent
RIDGID (elastic modulus ~10 GPa) AND STRONG (tensile strength ~200 MPa)
EXCELLENT OXYGEN BARRIER PROPERTIES (oxygen permeability 0.3-0.5 (cm³μm)/(m² day kPa) at 50% RH
LOW COEFFICIENT OF THERMAL EXPANSION (2-25 ppm/K)
Thin film
For specialists in thin film applications, FineCell’s cellulose hydrogel can improve film formation of polymers and small particles.
FineCell’s cellulose hydrogel can also be used alone to make thin films with the following features:
3D Bioprinting
For specialists in 3D bioprinting, we offer cellulose hydrogel (a stable suspension of cellulose microfibers in water) as a multifunctional ingredient with the following benefits:
IMPROVING SHAPE FIDELITY
IMPROVING SHAPE STABILITY
Thanks to its unique surface functionality, our cellulose hydrogel is cross-linkable with CaCl2. Crosslinking of the hydrogels that build up the scaffolds can significantly improve the shape stability.
EXCELLENT BIOCOMPATIBILITY
It’s been shown that our cellulose hydrogel is non-toxic towards living cells and has excellent biocompatibility. Our cellulose hydrogel can be formulated together with a wide range of bio-based polymers such as alginate, gelatin, GelMA, and hyaluronic acid, to achieve optimal cell adhesion and proliferation.
