A warm welcome to Beatrice, our newest colleague and a seasoned expert in cellulose chemistry! Beatrice’s journey in this field began with a master’s degree at KTH, where she delved into the intricacies of cellulose chemistry, even taking on a thesis project at McGill in Canada. She continued to expand her expertise with a Ph.D. at Chalmers in Gothenburg, focusing on the dissolution of cellulose. Beatrice’s journey with FineCell dates back to the early stages of our technology development in 2016 and 2017. Over the years, her valuable contributions have played a crucial role in shaping our innovative path. In the last year and a half, Beatrice collaborated with FineCell on a postdoc project, gaining an in-depth understanding of our processes and objectives. Now, Beatrice is officially joining us as a formal employee, bringing her wealth of knowledge and passion for cellulose to contribute to cutting-edge research and development. FineCell has officially become a member of the prestigious Biorenewable Deployment Consortium (BDC)! BDC’s mission is to support the Forest Products Industry by promoting the deployment of commercially viable advanced biofuels, biochemicals, and byproducts technologies, without the need for long-term subsidies. Their focus on optimizing efficiency ensures that we extract the utmost value from every tree. As a fact-based, trustworthy, and results-oriented international organization, BDC is dedicated to educating industry leaders and keeping them updated on cutting-edge technology, processes, and policies relevant to the deployment of advanced biorenewables. Boasting a diverse group of members including forest products, corn ethanol, biorenewable technology, construction, financial institutions, and universities, BDC fosters collaboration, brokering partnerships, providing vital information and education, identifying asset utilization opportunities, and leveraging available financial resources. Dr. Joachim Reimer appointed new CTO of FineCell Sweden AB

We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to our FineCell team – Dr. Joachim Reimer, our new Chief Technology Officer (CTO)! With a profound background in Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Joachim brings over 10 years of invaluable experience in both academic and industrial R&D. His expertise spans various domains, including bio- and petrochemicals, process development, safety engineering, and plant support. Prior to joining FineCell, Joachim served as the CTO at the bioenergy scale-up, C-Green, and contributed significantly as a Chemist at BASF. Joachim’s accomplishments extend to obtaining his PhD from the prestigious ETH Zürich, a testament to his dedication to advancing cutting-edge research and innovation. FineCell’s new chapter

FineCell Sweden AB, the Swedish-based developer and producer of nanocellulose-based materials, has recently undergone a major reorganization to further strengthen its position as an innovator in the sustainable materials industry. As part of the reorganization, FineCell Sweden has announced the appointment of a new board and operation team, which brings a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to the company. Leading the new executive team is CEO Mikael Uhno, a seasoned veteran with extensive experience in project management, engineering, procurement, and supply chain management. Mikael brings a strong track record of leadership and innovation to FineCell, and his extensive industry connections are expected to help the company expand its reach and customer base. The reorganization also includes the formation of a new operation team that will be responsible for developing and scaling up FineCell Sweden’s production capabilities. The operation team will work closely with the company’s R&D team to optimize the production process and ensure consistent product quality. FineCell received 500 000 SEK project grant

FineCell has been granted 500 000 SEK by Vinnova (Sweden’s innovation agency) to support a collaborative innovation project “In situ fibrillation of nanocellulose for cost-efficient, and high performing lightweight composites“ between FineCell, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Örebro University, as well as a world-leading auto parts manufacturer. With this support, we will be able to develop cost-efficient, high-performance, and lightweight composites reinforced by our cellulose nanofibers that are made from our microfibers in the compounding process.
